The Student Research Program in Academic Medicine (SRPinAM) is a 12-week program that kicks off May 9th and concludes with a Oral Presentation Competition July 28th and 29th, 2016. This program is available to all first year medical students in the IUSM system. If you would like to be given access to the 2015 abstracts and projects, please e-mail Jespada@iu.edu to be added to the SRPinAM Box archives.
Prior to applying to the SRPinAM, although not a requirement, potential applicants are encouraged to identify participating faculty mentors so that they can indicate their specific research mentor preference on their application. Qualified applicants who do not list a preferred research mentor or who identify research mentors with no available positions will be assigned to a research mentor by the program director that closely aligns with the student's research interests.
Successful applicants will be selected by the SRPinAM steering committee. The committee is comprised of participating faculty research mentors and other research faculty.
For a list of participating faculty research mentors and a brief description of their research interests, please follow the link: Research Mentors
Successful applicants will be notified of their acceptance into the program by no later than March 11, 2016. An acceptance agreement will be sent to those selected that will be due by March 18, 2016 in order to secure their place in the Program. Research Mentors will be assigned thereafter and notifications by April 1, 2016.
There is a required Student Research Program in Academic Medicine Poster Session that will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 in the Mills Atrium in the Medical Science Building from 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.
